Football Ahead: Laguna Hills Hawks
- Updated: 07/24/2015
The 2015 football season is just around the corner, so here’s a look at the upcoming season. Who a team schedules during nonleague can often have an impact on how well a team is prepared for league and playoffs. It can also be a good indicator of how strong a team expects to be: A tough schedule can indicate a program expects to be good. Over the years, our observation has been that competing above your level increases your own quality of play. At OC Sidelines, we love to check out who’s playing who outside of league.
Here’s a look at football ahead.
LAGUNA HILLS (Sea View League, 1-9, 0-4)
Coach: Bruce Ingalls
Manny Alvarez’s take: Laguna Hills has almost the same schedule as last season, the difference being Adelanto has replaced Chula Vista Bonita Vista in Week 9. That should be an easier matchup for a young but experienced Hawks squad eager to get wins anywhere it can. Valencia represents the biggest challenge outside league play and a good showing there could provide a boost heading into the league opener the following week. The only win last year came against Inglewood, so the Hawks are trying to curb a nine-game losing streak.
9/4 at Inglewood
9/11 vs Northwood
9/18 vs Woodbridge
9/25 at Irvine
10/2 vs Valencia
10/9 vs Aliso Niguel*
10/16 at Capistrano Valley*
10/23 at San Clemente*
10/30 vs Adelanto
11/6 vs Trabuco Hills*
