Riverside JW North-transfer Kianna Smith scored 22 points, including the go-ahead basket down the stretch, to help Troy pull out a 59-57 nonleague win over Etiwanda in a nonleague game on Saturday, Jan. 16, at Etiwanda High.

Barbara Sitanggan and Rebecca Lazuka, who have both signed with Pepperdine, finished with 16 had 13 points, respectively, for the Warriors.

“I thought I was a great team win, and everybody stepped up, especially since we weren’t full strength with one of our posts, Naomi Hunt being out, and Rebecca and Barbara in foul trouble most of the game,” Smith said.

Troy and Etiwanda are ranked No. 7 and No. 11, respectively, in CIF-SS Division 1AA

No. 4 Troy (11-4) plays No. 2 Brea Olinda in the 2nd MLK Cavalier Extravaganza on Monday, Jan. 18, at 7:30 p.m. at Gardena Serra High.

Orinda Miramonta 65, Mater Dei 47: Sabrina Ionescu, a member of the 2013 USA women’s 16U national team, scored 26 points to lead the Lady Mats (15-0), ranked No. 2 in the state by Cal-Hi Sports, to a convicncing win over the Monarchs (17-2), ranked No. 1 in the county by OC Sidelines and No. 4 in the state, at the MLK Showcase at Stockton St. Mary’s.
