SO CAL SIDELINES RANKINGS

SO CAL TOP 20


1. (1) Cathedral Catholic of San Diego (City-Western) 14-3

The Dons began City-Western League play with an 11-1 win over Patrick Henry of San Diego last week and have league games against Scripps Ranch of San Diego on Wednesday and at University City of San Diego on Friday before hosting Huntington Beach in a nonleague game on Saturday at 11:30 a.m.

2. (2) Orange Lutheran (Trinity) 20-2

The Lancers look like the team to beat in the Trinity League and they get a stiff test against Mater Dei of Santa Ana on Friday at 3:15 p.m. at Thornton Park.

3. (3) Gahr (San Gabriel Valley) 14-4

The Gladiators picked up two one-sided wins to open San Gabriel Valley League play last week and they have two league games this week against Warren of Downey today and at Paramount on Thursday.

4. (4) Norco (Big VIII) 18-2

Oklahoma-commit Kinzie Hansen continued her hitting rampage to lead the Cougars to Big VIII League wins over King of Riverside, 11-3, and Santiago of Corona, 7-5, last week. Norco has leaguegames against Centennial of Corona on Wednesday at Roosevelt of Eastvale on Friday before a big nonleague showdown against San Marcos on Saturday.

5. (5) Los Alamitos (Sunset) 19-1

The Griffins escaped with a 7-6 win in 11 innings over Marina of Huntington Beach last week and they have a big test at Huntington Beach tonight at 6.

6. (6) San Marcos (Avocado-East North County) 15-2

The Knights will represent San Diego against Inland Empire-powerhouse Norco in a nonleague showdown on Saturday at 10 a.m. at Jim Banks Sports Complex in Pala.

7. (7) Los Altos of Hacienda Heights (Hacienda) 18-2

The Conquerors opened up Hacienda League play with wins over Diamond Ranch of Pomona, 6-2, and Walnut, 4-1, last week and they have more league action at Charter Oak of Covina today and against Chino on Thursday.

8. (8) Mater Dei of Santa Ana (Trinity) 16-4

The Monarchs opened Trinity League play witha 7-2 victory over Santa Margarita last week and they have league games against JSerra of San Juan Capistrano today and host Orange Lutheran on Friday.

9. (9) Chino Hills (Baseline) 20-4

The Huskies picked up a huge Baseline League win over Upland, 7-1, on Monday and they have a league game against Los Osos of Rancho Cucamonga on Wednesday.

10. (10) Camarillo (Coastal Canyon) 12-1

The Scorpions have Coastal Canyon League games at Moorpark on Wednesday and at Oak Park on Thursday before heading to the Thousand Oaks Tournament on Saturday.

11. (11) Huntington Beach (Sunset) 12-5

The Oilers have a pair of big Sunset League games against Los Alamitos tonight and at Edison on Thursday.

12. (12) Esperanza of Anaheim (North Hills) 13-4

The Aztecs have North Hills League games at Brea Olinda today and against Villa Park on Thursday.

13. (14) Murrieta Mesa (Southwestern) 14-6

The Rams have a pair of Southwestern League games against Vista Murrieta today and Thursday.

14. (15) Great Oak of Temecula Valley (Southwestern) 14-3

The Wolfpack has two Southwestern League games against Temecula Valley this week.

15. (16) Valencia of Magic Mountain (Foothill) 15-7

The Vikings are at Saugus today and are at Golden Valley of Santa Clarita on Thursday in Foothill League action this week.

16. (17) Rio Mesa of Oxnard (Pacific View) 15-6

The Spartans have Pacific View League games against Channel Islands of Oxnard today and at Channel Islands on Friday.

17. (18) Upland (Baseline) 13-4-1

The Scots have an important Baseline League game at Etiwanda on Wednesday.

18. (19) West Torrance (Pioneer) 21-2

The Warriors face crosstown-rival South Torrance today.

19. (20) Crescenta Valley of La Crescenta (Pacific) 17-1

The Falcons have Pacific League games at Hoover of Glendale today and against Pasadena on Thursday.

20. (NR) Sunny Hills of Fullerton (Freeway) 18-3

The Lancers make their So Cal Top 20 debut and have Freeway League games against Troy of Fullerton today and Sonora of La Habra on Thursday.
