Siena College-bound Kiara Delgado delivered the walk-off single in the bottom of the eighth as Buena of Ventura pulled out a 5-4 win in ITB over Newbury Park in the championship game of the Thousand Oaks Tournament on Saturday at Thousand Oaks Community Center.

The Bulldogs (19-5), ranked No. 7 in LA by So Cal Sidelines, won the tournament for the second consecutive year and avenged a 6-5 loss to the Panthers in the finals of the Simi Valley Tournament on March 17.

“The win felt amazing after falling behind twice tonight and losing to them in the Simi Valley Tourney in the (championship) earlier in the year,” Delgado said. “We couldn’t have done it without hard work and working as a team! The game-winning hit felt good, just wanted to keep it simple and look for something to drive.”

Newbury Park, ranked No. 12 in LA, dropped to 16-5.

Camarillo 11, Lakewood 7: Bianca Gutierrez went 3 for 5 with a run and four RBI and Emily Bartlett went 1 for 5 with three RBI for the Scorpions (19-2), ranked No. 3 in LA and No. 10 in So Cal.
