Could this be the year for Mike Stith’s OC Batbusters to make another run at a PGF 18U Premier national title?

If the results at the Boulder Independence Day Tournament this past week are any indication, it very well could be.

The Batbusters went 12-0, including a 9-3 victory over Georgia Impact-Lewis in the championship game to win the prestigious Boulder IDT 18U title on Sunday afternoon at Stazio Complex in Boulder, CO.

Oklahoma-commit Tiare Jennings belted two home runs to lead the Batbusters in the title game.

“At the end of the day, this tournament is just preparing us for PGF,” Jennings said. “We saw some great competition and as a team we are coming together and playing some really good softball.”

The Batbusters went 6-0 in pool play, then they went 6-0 in bracket play, including a 10-0 win over So Cal Athletics-Richardson in the semifinals. The Batbusters outscored their six bracket play opponents 56-13.
